DESCRIPTION: APW - E. Howard & Co, Boston, Series III, 15J, N-S (just over 19S), heavy 14K gold or better (tested, exhibiting very slow fade on stone of 18K solution, no fade of 14K solution, we suspect content is likely somewhere around the middle of the 14 to 18K range) original W & S (Warren & Spadone) HC with very attractive engraving detail, pumpkin style pendant, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, KWKS (key not included with this lot), gilt mvt, s#15968. Gross weight of assembled watch 83.0 dwt (129.1 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Runs after a twist to start, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright plates with few scattered fine scratches and tiny cloudy spots, minor oxide to steelwork; excellent-plus dial with one very faint short hl under bezel at 11, two minuscule edge flakes under bezel with one being at 5:30 and the other at 9; excellent hour hand, fine-plus minute and seconds-hand with oxide, slight bend to seconds-hand stem; case front lift spring is not making contact with lid through final portion of opening range allowing lid to tilt about halfway towards closed with gravity, case shows light wear, no dents or dings, good engraving detail but original engine turning detail appears to have been polished away being virtually entirely eliminated with only a few small traces remaining in small areas adjacent engraving detail; tight replacement bow of slightly different color, push shows light wear; good glass crystal.
