DESCRIPTION: APW - E. Howard & Co, Boston, Series VII, deer grade, 15J, N-S (just over 19S), heavy 14K(+) gold (tested, with gradual slow fade of 18K solution on stone, no fade of 14K solution) drum style original E.H. & Co. HC with somewhat inaccurate 18K marking, gold cuvette, white enamel SS dial, umbrella style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene, s#211758. Gross weight of assembled watch 84.8 dwt (134.9 g); weight of case only with movement, crown/stem, and crystal removed and with case springs remaining 40.3 dwt (63.1 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, scattered fine scratches include a long scratch crossing right side of barrel bridge, spots of oxide to regulator spring; dial with hl from 12:30 to center, hl above seconds-register; excellent hour hand and seconds-hand, fine minute hand missing a bit of its tip and with some oxide and finish loss; case front opens somewhat wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 110 degrees), case shows light wear, profuse fine to micro-fine scratches, scattered dents and dings to front and rear, few dings to cuvette; tight bow, crown has lost approximately half of its jacket (outer layer) and remaining portions of crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
